Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a system of acupuncture based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that revitalizes and rejuvenates the face from the inside out.  Whether a person is seeking relief from pain and illness or simply desires to decrease a few wrinkles, the method of Chinese diagnosis is the same.  Facial acupuncture is just another way to show the versatility of this system of medicine.

While many external factors such as sun damage, stress, diet and lifestyle contribute to the health of our skin, our physical, emotional and spiritual health are also reflected on our skin.  The Mei Zen Acupuncture System balances you on the inside so that you look your healthiest on the outside!

Number of Treatments

The Mei Zen System is a minimum of ten treatments, twice weekly, over a period of five weeks.  Cosmetic Acupuncture is a series of treatments because your body takes time for collagen and elastin to repair and maintain.  As with any course of acupuncture treatments, the benefits of cosmetic acupuncture are cumulative and build with each treatment.

How much will it cost?

Acupuncture is very cost effective and much less expensive than other cosmetic procedures.  Facial rejuvenation through acupuncture is a viable alternative to more invasive facial procedures and surgeries that only address the surface, cost much more and can carry significant risks.  With cosmetic acupuncture there is no down time, no swelling and no significant bruising or scarring, Treatments are 90 minutes and cost $90.00 per session. Cash discounts & packages are available. Discounts available for teachers, librarians & seniors.

The popularity of this system is evidenced by recent write-ups in publications like the New York Times USA Today, and Allure magazine.

How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work?

Tiny needles are inserted shallowly into acupuncture points on the face, which bring qi and blood to the surface, resulting in fewer wrinkles, firmer skin tone and an overall healthy “glow.”

Again, since acupuncture in any form treats the body as a whole, patients often also experience “good” side effects such as improved sleep, improved digestion, having more energy and vitality.

How to tell if Acupuncture is right for me?
Acupuncturists have broad skills and are able to work with a wide range of symptoms.

If you suffer from headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, or back pain, acupuncture may help where other treatments have failed. Acupuncture can also help treat nausea, dental pain, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and asthma. Acupuncture can even help to combat addiction.

Do I have to believe in it for it to work
?
No. Acupuncture works whether or not you think it will.  Acupuncture is even used successfully on animals and children. They do not understand or believe in the process yet they get better anyway. Of course a positive attitude helps with any type of therapy but it is not necessary to believe in acupuncture (or to feel it working) for it to work.

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a system of healing that originated in China thousands of years ago and is based on laws of nature and life energy known as qi, pronounced chee. The idea is that energy flows through human beings much like rivers and streams flow along the surface of the earth. Health is the result of free-flowing qi; conversely, illness is the result of qi that's out of balance because of blockages. Through the use of very fine needles inserted into specific anatomical sites, acupuncture assists nature in unblocking the flow of qi and restoring overall balance.
